Listening to this (don’t be fooled by the album cover, the band is Pacific Theater) based on the following recommendation from Shil Patel:
The album really reminds me of some of the finer points of Broken Social Scene and The National, so check it out!
Impressions so far (6/10 songs in): The National comparison, yes. The Broken Social Scene comparison, not seeing it, but I totally forgive this because it’s always an odd process to come up with so many comparisons every week. Also, I’ve had plenty of arguments over whether or not something sounds like John Vanderslice.Overall, it’s been so so. Taj (Track 1) and Lions (Track 2) are great, tracks 3 through 6 haven’t been anything special. I’m definitely listening to Taj again once I’m done, it’s like a song from The National that is nine and a half minutes long.  Hopefully that great sound will be back in the next half of the album.

Hey! I like songs 3 through 6! ;)
